Walloon Lake Association and Conservancy Releases Summer 2026 Events Schedule Focused on Conservation, Community, and Education
Walloon Lake, Michigan – The Walloon Lake Association and Conservancy (WLAC) is pleased to announce the release of its summer 2026 schedule of education programs and community engagement events. Designed to connect people with the natural beauty and ecological importance of the Walloon Lake watershed, this season’s lineup offers opportunities for residents, visitors, and families of all ages to learn, explore, and get involved.
The summer schedule features a diverse mix of guided hikes, educational workshops, volunteer stewardship days, and a new signature WLAC Summer Speaker Series, among other community gatherings. These events aim to deepen participants’ understanding of local conservation efforts while fostering a shared sense of responsibility for protecting the region’s land and water resources.
“Summer is when our community comes alive around the lake,” said Jon Breithaupt, WLAC Executive Director. “Our programs are designed to bring people together, build awareness, and inspire stewardship of the Walloon Lake watershed in ways that are engaging, accessible, and meaningful.”
All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted. Advance registration is encouraged, as space may be limited for some events. For outdoor programs, participants should dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear for varying trail conditions. A full schedule, program descriptions, and registration details are available at walloon.org/get-involved/events.
