Dedicated to Walloon

The mission of the Walloon Lake Trust and Conservancy is to preserve and protect the Walloon Lake Watershed, thus enhancing the quality of the Lake, for the benefit of current and future generations.

The Walloon Lake Trust and Conservancy is a non-profit land conservancy dedicated to the preservation and protection of the Walloon Lake Watershed. We want to preserve the lands and waters of this special place so that future generations can enjoy the beauty of Walloon. We work closely with watershed residents, private businesses, local governments and other organizations to achieve this goal.

Protecting Our Watershed,
Preserving Our History

The rolling farmlands, grassy meadows, and marshy wetlands of the Walloon Lake watershed are an integral part of the experience of Walloon that we know and love. Since 1978, the Conservancy has protected over 60 properties and 2,000 acres, including 3,000 feet
of stream and lakeshore frontage.

Walloon Lake Trust and Conservancy is guided by a board, employs 3 staff, and is your resource for land conservation, protection, and water quality concerns within the watershed. In addition to our local partners, WLTC utilizes a state and nation-wide network of conservation partners to stay abreast of newest techniques and ideas.

The Walloon Lake Trust and Conservancy has committed to upholding the Land Trust Alliance’s Standards and Practices, and is a member of Heart of the Lakes, Michigan’s policy and service organization to land conservancies.

We look forward to working with you to protect the Walloon we all love.
