GIFTS OF STOCK
Stock, or other appreciated assets, can be donated and may qualify for a charitable tax deduction. If the stock has appreciated in value, you may avoid paying capital gains upon transferring it to WLAC. You or your broker may call contact us for gift transfer instructions.
QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS
Individuals who are 70 1/2 years old, or older, can donate a maximum of $108,000 to WLAC directly from a taxable IRA, rather than taking their required minimum distributions.
GIFTS OF LAND
If you have property that you would like to donate, please call us prior to making this donation. Some land may be of significant conservation value that would be added to our portfolio of protected lands, once transferred from your ownership to ours. Other properties may be sold or traded so that the proceeds can be used to further our mission. If the land’s value has risen over time, it’s considered an appreciated asset and may qualify for state and federal tax deductions as well as the avoidance of capital gains.
LEGACY SOCIETY (PLANNED GIVING)
Have you considered the Walloon Lake Association and Conservancy when addressing estate planning? The options available include gifts now or upon your death and include the possibility of saving on taxes and earning income during your lifetime. MEMBERSHIP
WLAC Members care deeply about the quality of the waters of Walloon Lake and the quality of life around it. WLAC Membership is for anyone and everyone who loves Walloon. Dues fund both our land and water programming and go directly towards protecting the Walloon watershed as a whole. Donations to the Guardian Fund at the $500 level or above include an Annual Membership.

THE ANNUAL GUARDIAN FUND
The Annual Guardian Fund is our yearly fundraising appeal for the essential expenses needed to implement our mission. By giving, you are directly supporting our programming, ranging from water quality testing to trail maintenance, and ensuring that the land and water of Walloon remain preserved for generations to come.
